Teeny, tiny fairy succulents

Fairy succulents

Someone say fairy succulents?

Sometimes the answer to a problem is so simple you feel like hitting yourself in the forehead and asking, “Why didn’t I think of this before?” I can’t tell you how many years I spent putting adorable teeny, tiny pots into my gardens with nothing in them! Why didn’t I ever think of planting succulents?

The inch or less plantable space inside the containers just wasn’t enough for any of the miniature plants I tried. Then, I planted little snippets of sedums and succulents. Success at last! Now I use them in even the tiniest of places.

This little 2-tier birdbath was drilled (one tiny hole in each tier) for drainage and stuffed with sedum cuttings. Even if it misses a watering, they’ll survive. Which is a good thing, because sometimes when the fairies are on vacation their gnome neighbors forget to water their plants!
